Never Thought I Could Get Sound and Picture This Good

Karin's home theater setup"Dave helped me pick out the surround-sound system and TV best suited for my tiny condo living room, then adjusted everything for peak performance. My home theater system sounds awesome--watching The Matrix is a mind-blowing experience! And all without spending a fortune! And all my friends want to come watch DVDs at my place now!"

An Excellent Job!

Dave did an excellent job of hooking up and tuning my system. The work Dave did included going under the house to move the cable hookup. I'm very satisfied with the results and I would recommend Dave to tuneup anyone's system.

Quite a Wonder

David's quite a wonder when it comes to analyzing and diagnosing a problem, his patience and thoroughness is greatly appreciated when explaining how everything works. Without David's help I would still be listening in Mono.

It's A Miracle!

Dave, I wanted to thank you for your efforts on behalf of my TV and surround sound.

I had some idea of what it could do, but since I purchased the system 3 or 4 years ago I couldn't figure it out. AND I am not a stupid man! So I lived with it.

Now, " it's a MIRACLE !! "

Every speaker works. The remote operates all components (a miracle in itself.) the TV picture is better than ever. Etc, etc, etc!!

I would certainly recommend your service to anyone and I will!

God Bless The Home Theater Tune-Up Guy

This is to thank David Gibbons for all the hard work that he put into getting me on the right track to enjoy my home theater set-up. Mr. Gibbons was very knowledgeable about how a home theater system should look, not only to the eye,but also to the ears. After reading all of my manuals for the equipment in my system, he came to my house with about 5 rather large containers of equipment that I thought he was going to build weapons of mass destruction. It turns out that every piece was of value to the job he was doing.

The first thing he did was move all of my speakers to a far better place. The next thing he did was to re-adjust the wiring of the system. (He tore the whole thing apart and re-did all of it).

Next he told me about the evils of the dreaded heat monster. (My home Dave at worktheater cabinet was not very cool-ness friendly), so he convinced me to put vents into the cabinet to facilitate cooling. (Thank God that my wife never looks behind the system cabinet).

Now he said "let's put it all back together" (most of my equipment was not working at its optimum capacity). We had a room full of wires and he had to make all of it work together. He also told me of the sale of the not-needed cables that are a big profit for the salesman. (When he got done I took the left over cables back to the store and got enough money to buy a really good DVD player). Now the right speaker is really on the right and the left speaker you guessed it, on the left. Front and back are also in the right place.

OK so the TV is talking to the stereo and the DVD and the VCR are talking to the TV as well. WOW--it's magic.

Then he goes to the ominous looking boxes of equpment. First he takes out a thing that looked like a stereo receiver and attaches a microphone to it. As it turns out this piece of equipment is used for balancing of the speakers in the room to the great place on the couch where the master sits and watches. As pink noise fills the room you get the feeling that this guy likes to give everyone some static. What it really does is to make each speaker come alive at the right time. (another WOW).

He then went through my whole picture on my television to get the color right the brightness right and the settings on the remote control. (My wife thinks I'm a genius because the remote is a lot more user friendly). Now we can watch a movie at home and feel like we are in a theater, and we can go to the refrigerator when we want, or anyplace else and return to a fine feature presentation.

I'm Very Pleased With Our Wonderful New System

I'm Dave's wife, and this is our own home theater. I thought that our previous setup was pretty good already, but Dave insisted that it could be a lot better. I was not immediately convinced, but after 27+ years of marriage, I know better than to get in the way of his enthusiasms. However, I must say that, after all, it really is a LOT better than it used to be.

Marian's home theater setup Along with equipment upgrades (on a budget!), and a lot of precision placement of equipment, we put in acoustic treatments to soak up echoes (which involved making trips to the fabric store. Oh, darn.) Now instead of having to turn on the closed captioning to 'hear' all the dialog, I hear it all crisp and clear, and we have a wide-screen picture with perfect colors.

When we have people over to watch movies and anime (something we do fairly frequently) they tell us how GOOD it sounds, and how much they enjoyed it. (Mostly they say "the floor shakes!" That's real immersion in the movie experience.)

Dave was right after all. I'm very pleased with our wonderful new system.

A Fine, Detailed Service

I would like to take a moment to tell you about Dave Gibbons' service and to tell you what a fine, detailed service he performed on my home entertainment system.

I bought my home entertainment system about 6 years ago. I have been happy with it ever since I bought it. Little did I know I was listening to a V.W. instead of a Cadillac! I have worked with Dave for many years, but I never knew he did home entertainment servicing on the side. After viewing his web site, I thought his services might benefit me. Boy was I in for a shock! Dave brought in about five tubs of technical stuff, wires, meters, connections, etc. and proceded to first look at my wiring. After sending me to Radio Shack for some new wiring, he began to "re-wire" my system so it would give me the best sound capable for what I have. I also had a bad connection because of a dead wire so I wasn't receiving any stereo through my T.V. setting on my receiver. Dave tracked that bad wire down like a bloodhound hot on the scent of the problem! He then wrote up a schematic so if I ever move, I will know how to re-wire the system appropriately.

Once Dave was done with the wiring, he then turned his attention to the balance of my system. I had always had a hard time listening to DVD's because I always had to turn the sound down for the action and up for the dialogue. Dave used his meters and sound demo DVD to dial and tweak my system so each speaker was purring equally as spectacular as the other four. I no longer had to adjust the volume anymore!

On the second visit, Dave looked into the visual portion of my entertainment system. He took apart my big screen T.V. in no time to clean my screen (I had a spider web running across the length of my screen which you could see when the screen was light),the mirror, and the lenses. He took great care not to scratch anything. Dave then adjusted my T.V. for optimal viewing using filters, his DVD Demo, and my adjustments on the T.V. He also drew up another schematic for the settings in case they were wiped out with the reset button on my remote control. When my wife saw the picture (that's really the big test), she absolutely loved it! The picture is a lot easier on our eyes and is supposed to help in making our T.V. last longer.

I must say, Dave really knows his stuff. He patiently answered all of my stupid questions with more information that you would ever want to know. You can tell that he really cares about what he is doing. He is very meticulous and he is there to do the best job for you. I thought his prices were very fair and exact. You can tell that he loves what he is doing!

I now know that I am enjoying the best sound and picture that my entertainment system can provide. I highly recommend that you take a little money to ensure that your system is running like a Cadillac with a man you can trust to do the best possible job he can for you!

I just wanted to thank you so much.

It's been an absolute joy with the setup that you did and all the dialing-in and we've been enjoying DVD's like mad and TV too of course. It's been absolutely fabulous and can't thank you enough.
